Dhul-Hijjah means 'owner of the pilgrimage' and it refers to the 12th and final month of the Islamic calendar. It is commonly known as 'The Month of the Pilgrimage'. During Dhul-Hijjah believers embark upon Hajj - a sacred annual journey that each Muslim is encouraged to make at least once in their lifetime (if able to do so). The mighty

month of Dhul-Hijjah houses the sacred and holy Day of 'Arafah.

▪︎The final revelation was sent down on this holy day. In the Qur'an, Allah (swt) says, "This day I have perfected for you your way of life and completed My favour upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion." [Surah al Maa'idah 5:3]

▪︎Prophet Muhammad (saws) was asked about fasting on the day of 'Arafah (9th of Dhul-Hijjah), whereupon he said, "It expiates the sins

of the preceding year and the coming year." [Sahih Muslim 1162b]

▪︎"The promised day is the Day of Resurrection, the witnessed day is the Day of ‘Arafah, and the witnessing day is Friday". [Tirmidhi 3339]

★Fast (1st to 9th) especially the 9th

★Increase in worship

★Pray in the mosque

★Read Qur'an

★Give charity

★Repent for sins

★Pray all 5 prayers + sunnah prayers

★Do good deeds

★Offer extra dhikr

★Send salawat

★Focus on Allah (swt)
